The Cosmic Conundrum
Below are a few words from Alan G Carter, the author, who sadly passed away on 13th July 2007.

The Cosmic Conundrum was his sixth work, and his wish was to make it widely and easily available to other "open minded" individuals with a similar thirst for knowledge.

A code, a plan, a scheme, laws or equations? A riddle, a hard question, a conundrum!

For the first five years of early retirement, my main interests were Greek and Middle East mythology, ancient history and astronomy, which led to five published works, two of which were in joint authorship with my wife Maureen. Since then my main interest has been focused on a belief that a prehistoric civilization existed which exercised a cosmic knowledge, since lost mainly due to the advent of Christianity. Because of persecution this knowledge was forced underground and I believe much of it has been retained by various esoteric societies.

My mythology study spread to all corners of the world and my ancient history investigations moved to pre-historic origins and in particular to the Western World and previous civilizations that had attained a very advanced knowledge and practice of life essence embracing astronomy, mathematics, the Earths vital energies, music and stereometry (the study of geometric solids and the structure of the Universe). I sensed that these were all essential elements in a spatial scheme and began laying my own plan to integrate them all into the written word whilst acknowledging that the result could never do justice to the subject.

A code, a plan, a scheme, laws or equations? A riddle, a hard question, a conundrum! They can all suggest a total relationship of all matter in the Universe. That is whether it exists in solid, liquid or gaseous form. A combination of elements that is common to all things. The only variable is the particular structure, which conforms to the actual arrangement of selected elements. A star, a planet, the earth, the ocean, a plant, a human being, an animal, a reptile, an insect, bacteria, a molecule, an atom, an electron, a proton, a neutron, a quark, a brane and a string all share differing mixtures and quantities of the same elements and are all alive, albeit for widely differing spans of something we define as time.

Since our particular group of atoms came together, man has sought his place and purpose in the seemingly infinite Universe and an inner certainty leads me to believe that there was a time when a greater awareness existed as to our place in the family of elements.

That a prehistoric civilization existed which recognized this close relationship and blended its acquired scientific knowledge, which we are yet to discover, with respect and consideration for all things. That natural energy sources, sacred measurement and mind power were utilized to great effect and I further believe that some of this knowledge has been preserved to this day by the upper echelons of various esoteric societies.
In “ The Cosmic Conundrum” another aim will be to present facts which have led to my own inner certainty and which will, I hope, tip the balance in favour of there having existed an advanced prehistoric civilization with great technical ability. People who had a completely different view, knowledge and respect for their relatives whether they be animal, vegetable or mineral and who instinctively knew that they were a microcosm of the Earth, fellow planets and the Universe.
